Angie Meister- Executive Director/Owner

Angie has studied dance for almost 42 years. As a member of Ballet Midland Dance Company, she was a featured soloist, studying under Susan Clark, Anthony Ferro, Judy Coleman and Audrey Walker. As a participant in Southwest Regional Ballet Association festivals across the southwest, she performed in Santa Fe, Dallas, and Houston, studying under guest artists Anne Reinking and Bill Martin Viscount. Angie has a B.A. in Pre-K and Elementary Education.
Angie has a solid background in competitive cheerleading and gymnastics. As a former NCA All-American Cheerleader, she performed in Ireland representing the United States and competed in All-Around gymnastics at the state level for many years. Angie has also coached competitive cheerleading at the high school level. Angie had a competitive and exhibition dance team for 3 years in the Midwest before relocating to the DFW area. Angie was recently named Outstanding Director by American Dance/Drill Team at the 2008 Texas State Championship and 2012 American Dance/Drill Team Nationals.  Angie has created a very successful studio of multi-award winning dance companies as well as a studio that teaches every child the love for dance in every development stage.  Angie is the President of United Performing Arts Guild a 501c3 program that helps raise money for families in order to be able to participate in the fine arts and mentor them.  The nonprofit also offers dance classes for special needs students of all ages.   Angie is an active member of the Downtown Arlington Rotary club and enjoys working with the city to help bring back Arts and Culture to Arlington.  Angie has a passion to train dancers from the inside out and not only be good technical dancers, but to also have a strong sense of self-worth and confidence.

Shelby Smith

Shelby Smith, from ‪Dallas, Texas‬ received a Bachelors in Fine Arts and a business minor at the University of Texas at Austin. She realized her love for travel while performing through Colombia, Austria, Germany and Italy. In 2013 she began performing on cruise ships with Holland America Cruises. She toured with Feld entertainments Disney Live before returning to cruise entertainment with Norwegian Cruise Line and Regent Cruises. Shelby has a passion for dance and performance and she is excited to share her love of dance with UPAC students.

Dorian Hejny

Miss Dorian started her ballet training at age 3 with Ballet Arlington under Svetlana Stanova and Nicolai Semikov. She continued her studies at Texas Ballet Theater School, Ballet Center of Fort Worth, and Etgen-Atkinson Ballet School where she performed for three years as a company member with Dallas Metropolitan Ballet. Miss Dorian finished her training as a student under Megan Young and Emily Hunter at Arlington Classical Ballet Academy.Miss Dorian has attended summer intensives at Tulsa Ballet’s Pointe to the Future, American Ballet Theater, Pacific Northwest Ballet, San Francisco Ballet School, Ballet West, and Texas Ballet Theater where she received scholarships for some of her training. Three times, Miss Dorian placed in the top 10 at Youth America Grand Prix in both classical ballet and contemporary, qualifying for the New York finals. Miss Dorian started teaching pre-ballet and creative movement classes at the age of 14 while she was a student and company member with Dallas Met. She continued to develop as a teacher and choreographer during this time, coaching students for YAGP and other national dance competitions. Miss Dorian has taught Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, and Contemporary Dance for ACBA and IDI for the past four years where her competitive groups and solos consistently won top ratings and overall titles. In addition to her teaching schedule, Miss Dorian has danced professionally with Gaudium Dance Movement for two years under the direction of Gina Lee. Miss Dorian currently dances professionally with Dallas Neo-Classical Ballet and Festival Ballet of North Central Texas and is so excited to work with the fabulous instructors and dancers of United Performing Arts.

Ashley Sikes

Ashley Sikes, from Arlington TX, has danced since she was a toddler. Ashley trained in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, and clogging in the DFW area. Ashley has a passion for young dancers and high school drill teams. While in college, Ashley worked with several drill teams in the area as well as taught pre-school dance at both UPAC and varies daycares and preschools. Ashley’s favorite thing about teaching is instilling the love of dance in young dancers and getting to see them grow. After a break from teaching to pursue her career in American Sign Language interpreting, Ashley is very excited to be back at UPAC and can’t wait to see her tiny dancers!

Darcy Doyle

Darcy Doyle has recently received her Bachelor of Fine Arts, specifically in Performance, and Minor in Dance from the University of Texas at Arlington. She can be seen in Gilden Media Production’s short films such as “Hey” and “Wallpaint” and has also recently appeared as Veta in UTA’s production of Harvey and as “Lane” in The Clean House and many more. Darcy has choreographed and performed in UTA’s Via Dance for the majority of her college life, and has obtained a giddy passion for dance and the stage. Along with Theatre, Film, and Dance, she also enjoys painting, eating muffins, and playing with her Bombay cat, Coraline. She is incredibly excited share her passion and inspire!

Makayla Sifuentes

Hello my name is Makayla Sifuentes. I am originally from Mesquite TX. I have been dancing for 13 years and teaching for 8. I am classically trained in ballet / pointe, along with contemporary, lyrical, modern, horton, jazz, hip hop, strength and conditioning, african, partnering, salsa, and breaking. I am a high school graduate from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and a college graduate from California Institute of the Arts. I have graduated from college with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Dance and a Minor Degree in Science and Mathematics. I have taught students from the ages of 2-30 years old. I have worked for dance studios, vocal / entertainment groups, music artists, and educational institutions. While in California I was able to work and choreograph with Oakwood Secondary School in North Hollywood and also California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, CA. I have taught mostly in contemporary, jazz, ballet, hip hop, partnering, modern, dance technique, and physical conditioning. My love and passion for teaching is extremely high as I take each student of mine very seriously, providing them with an abundance amount of information with my knowledge of the performing arts. My goal is to teach, motivate, encourage, and mold my students into the striving artist that they truly desire, while guiding them through their artistic journey.

Chelsea

Chelsea has been in the dance industry for 20 plus years. She is a proud member of the Acro Dance Teachers Association (ADTA) and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Dance from BYU. Her experience spans beyond her dance training. She has operated an award winning studio for almost 10 years, has choreographed and taught numerous nationally acclaimed award winning numbers and holds numerous performance awards

Jayci Meister

Jayci Meister has been dancing since she was 3 and trained her at United Performing Arts Company in Arlington, Texas. Jayci grew up as a competition kid but then found love in Concert companies when her studio created AMP a pre professional company. She started choreographing at the age 16 and has gotten several choreography awards since. Jayci received multiple scholarships to many summer intensives in NYC and LA where she trained under sought out professionals from all over the country. Jayci is part of multiple professional shows including Arlingtons Spectacular Christmas, State fair Illumination Sensation, and more. Jayci continues her training by taking ballet classes at contemporary ballet Dallas, United Performing Arts and trains in all different styles wherever she can. Jayci specializes  in contemporary fusion while helping  all dancers find their artistry and movement. Jayci  continues to teach her students everything she’s learned in the years of dancing and helping them grow as professional dancers. 

Alex " Tiny B"

 Alex began dancing in her hometown of Odessa, Texas where she was a member and officer of the Odessa High Showgirls dance team. 

 After graduating from Odessa High School, Alex moved to DFW to further her studies as a first generation college student at Texas Woman’s University where she studied dance and business marketing. 

 AlexTinyB quickly became a well known choreographer for local Dallas artists and more 
choreographing and dancing in music videos and shows from MTV to BET, which landed the attention 
and choreography gig for two time Grammy award winners "PlaynSkillz" where she ended up touring 
with and danced for the two multi talented Latino brothers for over 5 years ,in which gave her the 
opportunity to choreograph a International music video for Reggaeton artist Daddy Yankee and 
PlayNSkillz. Since then she has been transitioning from backup dancer choreographer to emerging 
into her very own artist/singer becoming a triple threat, and creating a buzz in Texas , Miami , and 
California with her music , unique style and dancing. Currently she has won numerous choreography 
awards and first places with her dance company Wrk’n Progress and studio students and continues to 
teach when she’s not on tour or performing as an artist.  

Influenced by Selena Quintanilla  as a young girl Alex has began to take over the music world as a 
singer by storm by catching the attention of many famous producers and artist by opening for artists such as NELLY, AB QUINTANILLA (Selena’s brother), MC/MAGIC & more to name a few.  

In August 2019 Alex self created a Pro Team for Texas Live Entertainment district for a new baseball 
stadium named Texas Live LoneStars where he is the Director and Choreographer. 

Ashley Dobay

Ashley Dobay is originally from South Florida, where she started dancing at a young age. She continued her training in Cincinnati and went on to study dance at The University of Akron, where she graduated with a BFA in dance in 2006. At the university, Ashley was trained by members of The Martha Graham Company, The Pennsylvania Ballet, and Jennifer Mull/The Works. She was in The University of Akron Dance Company for four years and also performed in the student-choreographed concerts. Ashley danced with Verb Ballets in Cleveland, Ohio from 2006-2013.  She has had the honor to perform many great works from well-known choreographers including Appalachian Spring and Lamentation by Martha Graham, To Have and To Hold by Shapiro and Smith, and Vespers by Ulysses Dove along with many other pieces by Heinz Poll, Hernando Cortez, Christopher Fleming, and emerging choreographers such as Antonio Brown to name a few. Along with her professional career, Ashley has been teaching dance since 2005 to pre-professional and competition kids of all ages. She also teaches master classes in intensives/workshops all over the Northeast Ohio area. Ashley just moved to Texas alongside her husband Matt and 1 year old daughter Sophia. She looks forward to continuing her dance career in the DFW area.

Kimberly Gaudette

Kimberly was born and raised in Illinois where she started dancing at the age of two. She trained in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, modern, contemporary, and musical theater. She was a member of multiple competitive dance teams and performance companies. Kimberly attended four to six regional competitions, one national competition a year and danced multiple dance conventions. Kimberly also performed Off-Broadway in The Nuttaper.

Kimberly has been teaching for more than 8 years while instructing ages 18months through adults. Kimberly founded and directed a dance ministry for eight years and over twenty students of all ages. Which performed at multiple community events, nursing homes, church events, and services.

Kimberly is attending the Online Professional development Institution through The National Dance Education Organization to obtain her dance teaching certification. Kimberly has taught at numerous studios in the Chicago DFW  area and is looking forward to bringing her knowledge and inspiration to United Performing Arts Company.
